student work from my character change lesson

During my first observed lesson, I read the students D.W. All Wet and we discussed character change over the course of the book. After modeling for the students my expectations, I had the students independently write and draw how the character D.W. changed from beginning to end.
This student is always putting her best foot forward, and when she doesn't understand something, always asks in order to achieve that understanding. Her artwork is always over the top and overall always does her best job!

This student typically does not like to use illustrations to complete the task, but would rather write more. I thought it was interesting to compare the two students because both did an exceptional job in completing the task, however, in different ways.
Student work from my Earth day lesson

The following are the Go Green posters that students created from my Earth Day lesson. The took objects that I brought in and showed how they would either reduce, reuse or recycle them. Everyone in the class did an amazing job, all very creative!
This student took a blueberry tray and created it into a dog food tray. I thought this was so creative, never something I personally would think of, I had her share with the class.

This student was showing how they could reuse a water bottle by filling it up again once it is empty. This student needs a lot of prompting during independent work, however this was done only with modeling to the whole class, and it is a really great job!

This student was showing how he could recycle an "ordinary" box and make it into a Lego box. I thought this was great and very useful!
